Flooring in Etobicoke City Centre
Etobicoke's Official Plan Centre covers about 169 hectares along 2.8 km of Bloor and Dundas Streets. Its core is a band of high-density apartment buildings of 6 to 36 storeys, older and predominantly rental in the east and newer condominiums in the centre and west, with high-rise office and residential buildings at Bloor and Islington. The former Six Points interchange lands are being rebuilt as Bloor-Kipling with more than 2,700 homes and a new Etobicoke Civic Centre.
What changes the job in Etobicoke City Centre
- Two tower generations side by side: older, predominantly rental apartment buildings in the east and newer condominiums in the centre and west, each with a different approval route (landlord versus condo corporation).
- Bloor-Kipling adds more than 2,700 homes, about 900 of them affordable rental: new-build suites on slab.
