Care & Maintenance
A few easy habits that protect your investment and keep the manufacturer warranty fully valid. Choose your floor type below.
Solid, engineered & hybrid engineered floors — Estate, Atelier, Kingsway and Metro collections
Real wood floors are built to last for decades — and over 90% of the problems they ever develop come down to one thing: moisture. A few easy habits keep your floor beautiful for the long term and keep your warranty fully intact.
Sweep or vacuum regularly
Use a soft broom or a vacuum with the bristles down. Grit and sand act like sandpaper underfoot — removing them regularly is the single best thing you can do for your finish.
Damp-mop only — never wet
Use a microfibre mop with a pH-neutral hardwood cleaner. The floor should be dry within 15 seconds of mopping. Never wet-mop, and never use a steam cleaner — steam forces moisture into the wood and voids the warranty.
Wipe spills right away
Water and wood don't mix. Blot spills as soon as they happen to prevent staining and damage to the plank core.
Entrance mats at every door
A coarse mat outside plus a fine mat inside stops sand, water and dirt before they reach the floor.
Felt pads under furniture
Add strong felt protectors to all furniture and chair legs, and lift — never slide — furniture when moving it.
Manage sunlight
All wood matures in colour with UV exposure, mostly in the first 3–6 months. Close blinds during peak sun, rotate rugs and furniture for even exposure, and consider UV window film for floor-to-ceiling glass.
Pets & heels
Keep pet nails trimmed, and avoid walking on wood in stiletto-style heels — a small heel can concentrate enormous pressure into a dent.
Keep humidity steady
Maintain indoor relative humidity between 35–55% year-round. Dry winter air can open small gaps between boards; a humidifier during heating season prevents it. Excess humidity causes expansion — mind evaporative coolers.
Minor scratches
Small scratches can be cosmetically masked with a colour-matched touch-up pen. Deep scratches in the factory finish should be assessed by a professional — talk to us before attempting repairs.
Following this guide keeps your manufacturer warranty valid — improper maintenance (like steam cleaning or wet mopping) is the most common reason warranty claims are declined. Questions? We're one call away.
